Campervan fuel costs in New Zealand
MBIE publishes national average pump prices every week. Multiply them by the litres your route needs and you have the fuel line of your budget.
This week’s national average pump prices
These are MBIE’s national average board (pump) prices, marked provisional for the latest week. Prices vary from station to station: type the price you see on your route into the calculator.
The formula
Litres = km × L/100 km ÷ one hundred. Cost = litres × price per litre. Diesel vehicles also pay road user charges.
What hire costs
Daily rates swing with season and vehicle. As one indication, Motorhome Republic says as little as NZD$68 a day for a very simple sleepervan, or NZD$500 or more a day for a large luxury RV2. The calculator starts with the low end, marked as an example: replace it with your quote.
Work out your own trip: open the campervan hire calculator. It starts with sourced defaults and leaves the rest for your quote.
